I grew up in a suburb of Seattle, surrounded by the greenery that the Pacific Northwest is known for. My favorite thing to do with my friends was play “pretend,” which lead to my love of storytelling. I remember imagining we were pioneers on the frontier, making sure our dolls didn’t get kidnapped by the evil settlers next door. When we weren’t settling new lands, we were sailing across the seas to find a new home. Sometimes we made it, sometimes we didn’t, but we always had several adventures by the time we were ready for lunch.
Today, I play pretend by being Riley one minute and Cain the next. Each character is a little bit me, from the messed-up and psychotic, to the peaceful and sure. When I’m not in a different world, I’m doing my favorite thing in this one: spending time with my husband, daughter and two dogs. You'll probably find us wine tasting, trying a new recipe, or just sitting on the couch watching The Walking Dead.
Thank you for reading my work.
