2017 was a hard year for our family. We lost people we love, and there will always be a hole in our lives where they once were. But 2017 was also a year of triumphs. We are getting closer to opening our restaurant, something we've been trying to accomplish for a long time. And, I am very proud to say I had a dream that I never thought could actually happen (not through lack of effort, but for the idea that this just doesn't happen) come to be: my books were optioned for film, and 5x5 Media is working on making them into movies as we speak. I am beyond excited and cannot wait to see what 2018 holds in terms of that adventure.
So what I propose is this... What if, instead of our New Years Resolutions focusing on everything we think we are doing wrong (diet for example, there's a classic), let's focus on continuing the positive things we are doing right. Here's mine:
1) I will continue my gratitude journal because it helps me have a positive attitude right before bed
2) I will continue to be present as I play with my daughter, leaving thinking about goals and business stuff for when she naps
3) I will continue to pay attention to my own needs, and just breathe when I need to.
What about you? Will you join me in looking at this year just a little differently?
