This is the first book I've ever read that could be considered a Fantasy Romance, and let me tell you, it earned it. Dripping with romantic tension, you could really feel the desire these characters had for each other leaping off the page. The prose was very detailed and well-written, with great world-building. Our main character Ara has tremendous pressure weighing down on her as she tries to find the best way to help her nation as well as herself, all while attempting to decide between two very handsome suitors: one who she has known her whole life, and one she may or may not be fated to be with. Whichever one she picks, you feel for all three people involved, and hope that there's a happy ending around the corner for all of them (doubtful by the end of the book, but one can dream).
On a side note: I have heard that sometimes people skip prologue. DON'T SKIP THIS ONE. I tell you, it knocked my socks off. I turned to my husband and said, "holy (*censored), that was a good prologue." Do yourself a favor and read it.
